| Remarks | 紀伊藩のお抱え絵師・笹川遊泉顕信（初代、1767～1820）が描いた群猿図。淡墨を主体に、筆数を減らした無駄のない描写で、群れ集う104匹の猿が生き生きと描かれる。猿の顔には淡く代赭を施して赤みを出し、目鼻と手足の先は濃墨の細線を用いて、表情の違いを描き分ける。構図は、画面右よりに大きな枯木と土坡・樹叢を配して近景とし、画面左になだらかな遠山を配して遠景とする、対角線構図となっている。小品ながら、意匠がこらされ、見応えある作品となっている。 |
