| Remarks | 紀州の三大文人画家の一人・桑山玉洲(1746～99)は、父・昌澄(？〜1752)の跡を継いで和歌浦で廻船業を営むが、やがて新田開発にも携わるようになり、和歌山平野南部の和田川中流に位置する海部郡吉原組（和歌山市）周辺の荒蕪地などの開発を行った。明和５年(1768)に成立した新出嶋村（和歌山市桑山）もその一つである。本品は、農業経営に従事していた玉洲が、紀伊藩からの御救米が支給されるにあたって、自らも分限に応じて米などを拠出し、貯蔵するための義倉の建設を願い出たものである。 |
