| Remarks | 「西行物語」に挿絵を入れた奈良絵本。「西行物語」は、歌人・西行(1118～90)の出家から入滅までの生涯を描いた物語で、史実と伝説・説話などの虚構とを織り交ぜながら実録風に構成される。表紙は、紺紙に金砂子・金霞をあしらい、金泥で草花の下絵を描く。略本系統の本文は、間合紙を用いて袋綴とし、毎半葉12行で書写される。挿絵は、元禄期の奈良絵本に特有な画風で、人物の表情や屋敷・調度・植物などは単純化されて描かれている。描かれる場面や絵の内容、構図には独自性が認められる。 |
