| Remarks | いずれも鷹狩の情景を描いた襖の下絵である。江戸木挽町狩野第7世･狩野晴川院養信(1796～1846)に師事した、紀伊藩絵師･堀端養恒(南岡、1800～80)のもとにあったとされる。裏書には「西ノ丸御奥御新座敷」と記され、和歌山城西之丸にあった建物に用いられていた襖にかかるものと伝えられる。ただし、本図が板橋区立美術館に所蔵される「鷹狩図屛風」（二曲一隻）の図様に類似しており、また晴川院筆「公用日記」の記述から、養恒が晴川院とともに江戸城障壁画の制作に関わっていたことが明らかになっており、裏書に記される襖の枚数も多いことから、本図が江戸城西ノ丸御新座敷の障壁画に関わるものである可能性も想定される。 |
