| Remarks | 諏訪鵞湖(1763～1849)は、江戸詰めの紀伊藩士で、役目の傍らに絵筆を取った。文化11年(1814)3月、10代藩主･徳川冶宝にしたがって和歌山へ扈従した折に熊野に立ち寄り、那智の滝を描いたという。本品は、やや堅い筆で那智大滝と滝本の諸堂をあらわしたもので、実見をもとに制作されたものであろう。なお、鵞湖は熊野の紀行文である菊池西皐『三山紀略』の挿絵を谷文晁とともに担当している。 |
