| Remarks | 紀州の三大文人画家の一人・野呂介石(1746〜1828)が、その岳父で田辺藩の儒学者であった宮所雄水(1725～1810)の80歳の賀を祝して贈った作品である。芝仙延年とは、霊芝（芝仙）・松・岩を描き長寿を寓意する画題のこと。本図では、岩のそばで、霊芝だけでなく根元に蘭の生えた老松を描く。款記は「乙丑七月、寫老松図、事祝雄水宮老先生八十大壽 第五隆」、款印は「第五隆印」（白文方印）である。左側の余白には、山本東籬(1745〜1806)・川合春川(1750〜1824)・伊藤海嶠(1763〜1818)・山本楽所(1764〜1841)・小田仲卿(生没年不詳)・草野菟洲(1753〜1813)といった紀伊藩の儒学者や文人らが、それぞれ長寿を祝う漢詩で着賛している。介石が、紀伊藩の儒学者とも親密な交流をもっていたことをうかがわせる作品である。 |
