| Remarks | 浄土真宗本願寺第8世の蓮如(1415～99)は、門弟に宗祖･親鸞(1173～1263)と蓮如の連座像や自身の寿像を与え、勢力の拡大を図っているが、連座像としては京都･西法寺本や西本願寺本など、単独像としては、大阪･光善寺本や慈願寺本などが知られる。当館所蔵のこの資料は単独の肖像で、裱背墨書により文政6年(1823)に真宗興正寺派の本山･興正寺（京都市下京区）から長門国阿武郡の清光寺（山口県萩市）に与えられたことが判明する。面容や左手のみに数珠を持つ点などは、上述した事例とは異なる点を持つ。 |
