| Remarks | 旧士族の子弟教育のために明治17年(1884)に設立された私立の徳義中学校は、明治34年(1901)に県に移管され、同37年(1904)には八番丁から撞木町(掘止東二丁目)に移転した。この棟札の上部には、「奉祝上棟万歳不朽 明治三拾六年拾月拾弐日」と記されており、移転の前年に新築された校舎の上棟の棟札ではないかと考えられる。また、中央から下部にわたって、徳川茂承・頼倫をはじめとする徳義社関係者や工事関係者の名前が記されている。 |
