| Remarks | 中世後期より、粉河寺の門前町では仏具などの鋳物の制作が行われ、それらは「粉河作」として珍重されてきた。鋳物師のうち、江戸時代を通じて最も活躍した蜂屋は、寛永8年(1631)に紀伊徳川家初代藩主・徳川頼宣(1602〜71)に御目見を許され、代々正勝を名乗るように命じられ、その後、明治時代中ごろまで、数代にわたり多くの作品を残している。本品も、その蜂屋の手によるもので、「獅子の子落し」の説話を題材にとった鋳上がりの良い優品である。底部に「正勝」の針書銘がある。 |
