| Remarks | 江戸時代中期の浄土宗の念仏行者である徳本(1758～1818)は、紀伊国日高郡志賀村(日高郡日高町)の出身で、27歳のとき往生寺(御坊市)の大円について出家した。念仏の行を積み、文字を習わずして仏道の奥旨をきわめたといわれ、長髪長爪のまま各地を教化してまわった。その足跡は、紀伊をはじめ畿内･関東･北陸に及んだ。本図は、印を結んで牀座に座す肖像の上方に、徳本自筆の特異な筆跡を印刷した名号のほか、定玄の賛が円碩の筆で和歌とともに書されている。 |
