| Remarks | 和歌山県下最大規模の中世の山城･手取城(日高川町)を復元した模型。日高郡の有力な領主･玉置氏によって中世後期に築城されたもので、秀吉の紀州攻めの過程で、秀吉に抗戦する湯河直春が、秀吉と結んだ玉置直和が立てこもる手取城を攻撃したという記録がある。城の構造は中央の大きな堀割によって東西に区画され、東の区画には最も高所に城の中心となる一の曲輪がある。東･北･西に延びる屋根の上には、要所に堀切･竪堀が掘られ、防御を固めている。なお、この模型では逆茂木や建物を想定で復元している。 |
