| Remarks | 桑山玉洲(1746～99)は、和歌浦の廻船業者の家に生まれ、のち新田開発なども行った事業家であるが、文化史的にはわが国の近世文人画を代表する画人として著名であり、また、彼の著した画論は、教科書的な文献として後世の画家たちに多大の影響を及ぼした。本品は、特定の風景を写したものではなく、いわば玉洲が脳裏に描いた理想的風景であるが、独特の温雅な色彩感覚とやわらかな筆致で統一された優品である。 |
