| Remarks | 桑山玉洲(1746～99)は、空想的風景ではなく、和歌浦や熊野の風景を実際に見て描いた作品を残しており、それらは描写の正確さゆえに、単なる芸術作品にはない学術資料としての価値をもつ。本品は那智滝の周辺と原始林を描いているが、堂舎や熊野参詣道などの位置もほぼ正確で、雨量の多いこの地域の気候さえもうかがうことのできる優れた作品である。 |
