| Remarks | 南紀男山焼は、京都の石清水八幡(別称男山八幡宮)を勧請した広八幡神社の近くに築かれた紀州藩の「藩窯」で、14連房登窯を稼働させ、日用雑器を中心として、当時は高価であった大量の染付磁器を生産し、紀州の廻船を利用して藩外に広く販路を確保し、藩財政を潤した。この香炉は、底面および側面に「明治四年、未正月廿一日、法号釈遠慶退位」「十一月四日生、安之祐、施主政吉」とあり、制作年と制作理由が明らかな、数少ない作品である。 |
