| Remarks | 紀州の三大文人画家の一人･桑山玉洲(1746～1799)の作品。左上方の高山から細長く流れ落ちる滝と、右辺の背の高い3本の樹木を対比させ、中央に川岸の岩の上から滝を仰ぎ見る2人の中国風の人物を配置する。高士が世俗を離れ、山中の名瀑を見て、悠々自適に過ごすさまを描く「高士観瀑」の画題は、古くから多くの作品が残されている。本品では、右の人物が滝を指さし、左の人物が真上を見上げている姿はどこかユーモラスである。右辺上方に、「桑嗣燦寫」の款記、朱文方印の「玉」「洲」という款印（朱文連印）を据える。 |
