| Remarks | 和歌浦（和歌山市）と日本三景の一つ・安芸の厳島（広島県廿日市市）を一対で表現した屛風。右隻と左隻とが正対するように構図が整理され、金箔を押して雲や地面を美しく装飾している。人物の風俗の描写も、精緻である。和歌浦図においては、和歌浦の景観を構成する要素として、右半分に東照宮を描き、その鳥居の前に堀川・下馬橋がみられ、また湾の対岸に布引松を配置するが、一般的に東照宮とならんで描かれる和歌浦天満宮や左端に描かれる紀三井寺は省略されている。名所絵としての美しさを追求する一方、正確さへの関心は失われている。 |
