| Remarks | 本品は、いずれも和歌山市内の個人が所蔵していた紙焼写真である。①は、昭和61年(1976)に現在の庁舎が完成するまで、和歌山城西の丸跡で使用されていた旧和歌山市役所庁舎の写真である。②は、紀の川市中鞆淵（旧粉河町）に鎮座する鞆淵八幡神社に伝来する、国宝･沃懸地螺鈿金銅装神輿の写真である。この神輿は、12世紀末に制作され、安貞２年(1228)に石清水八幡宮から奉送されたもので、大正６年(1917)に旧国宝に指定され、昭和31年(1956)にあらためて国宝となっている。背景に外陣の架構が写っていることから、境内の大日堂内部で撮影されたものと思われる。③は、理論物理学者として日本人初のノーベル賞を受賞した湯川秀樹(1907〜81)の肖像写真である。風貌から、昭和25年(1930)ごろのものではないかと推測される。湯川は、地質学者･小川琢治(1870〜1941)の三男として東京に生まれるが、小川は田辺藩儒学者･浅井南溟の次男として田辺に生まれた人物であった。 |
