| Remarks | 紀州の三大文人画家の一人・桑山玉洲(1746～99)は、家業の廻船業や新田開発に従事した実業家であったが、池大雅や木村蒹葭堂らと交流し、自ら画筆を執って多くの文人画を残している。この作品は、玉洲の典型的な山水画の作品である。手前の断崖の前の水面には、１人の人物が釣り糸を垂らす。断崖の上には３本の大木がそびえ、その奥には入母屋の大きな家屋がみえる。遠山も険しい絶壁の山々である。「桒嗣燦」の署名に、款印「桑燦」「明夫」（白文連印）が捺される。 |
