| Remarks | 紀州徳川家中屋敷赤坂邸には、台地と谷を利用して作られた広大な赤坂庭園があった。庭内は外苑と内苑とから成り、50数か所の名所があったという。本品は、寛政9(1797)年、紀州藩主徳川治宝の命を受けた当代きっての文人画家谷文晁(1763～1840)がその景観を描いた作品の下絵である。8図を描き1巻にしたもので、簡にして要を得た墨線と適宜に付した淡彩とにより、起伏に富む回遊式庭園の様子を活写している。 |
