| Remarks | 江戸時代後期の南画家･谷文晁(1763～1840)は、脳裏に浮かぶいわば空想的な山水図だけでなく、景勝の地を訪れて実際の風景を写した「真景図」の名手としても知られている。この4面は､8面1組の画帖の前半にあたるもので、各面に熊野の葵瀑布･北山村･印南村･山本村の景観を、丁寧に描いている。谷文晁が紀伊各地を訪れた寛政8(1796)年の経験をもとに制作されたものと推測される。各面に朱文長方印「文晁」が捺されている。 |
