| Remarks | 根来寺の境内を描いた絵図で、羽柴秀吉の攻撃（1585年）により焼亡し、江戸時代において再興がままならなかった主要堂舎が全て描かれる一方、江戸時代に復興された子院がみえないことから、本絵図作成の目的は、往時の根来寺の隆盛を示すことにあったものと思われる。画面左端には、天正３年(1575)ごろの根来寺の勢力を表示している。『紀伊国名所図会』に掲載された「根来山往古伽藍図」という絵図と同系統で、かつ「根来寺伽藍古絵図」（根来寺蔵）とは異なる共通の祖図の存在が想定される。 |
