| Remarks | 船の郷土玩具は各地で多く作られたが、和歌山県においてもみられ、この熊野玩具船は、まさに紀州の郷土玩具である。３点とも極彩色の船体で、鳥や花が描かれている。いずれも形は若干異なるが、ともに銛を打つ刃刺が乗る勢子船をあらわしたものと思われる。熊野玩具船は、もともと和船の新造の際に、余材で作った玩具だという説がある。３点のうち１点の底には、４つの車輪をつけているものもあり、地面を走らせて遊べるようにしたのであろう。 |
