| Remarks | 太地浦を中心に、串本から木ノ本浦(三重県熊野市)にいたる熊野灘沿岸の景観と沖合での捕鯨の様子を描いた屏風。紀州において捕鯨業の中心であった熊野灘付近には、古座組、太地組、三輪崎組の三つの捕鯨組織(鯨方･鯨組)があり、それぞれ網代場(鯨漁場)が決まっていた。構図からみて、本図は太地鯨方の網代場を中心に描いたものと考えられる。 |
