| Remarks | 原品は、大正７年(1918)に那智経塚から発見された資料のうちのひとつで、那智山青岸渡寺に所蔵される（重要文化財）。智拳印を結んで結跏趺坐した大日如来像で、頭体を一鋳として、両手は別鋳して肩で蟻枘接合する。内部は空洞として、銅厚は一様に薄く、丁寧な造りである。鍍金が良好に残存する。頭部は螺髪とし、天冠台は紐二条に列弁を２段重ね、条帛と裙をまとって、上腕部に腕釧を付ける。球形に近い円満な輪郭に配された目鼻の表情は穏やかで、胸を引いて腹部の緊張をゆるめ、やや猫背になる姿勢は、平安時代後期（12世紀）の造像様式を示している。「那智山瀧本金経門縁起写」に「六寸大日如来像」と記された資料であり、制作時期は大治5年(1130)年ごろと想定され、天台沙門行誉が埋納した「密教大壇具」の中尊である。 |
