| Remarks | 勿来関（福島県いわき市）で山桜の和歌（「吹風を なこその関と おもへとも みちもせにちる 山桜かな」）を詠んだことで知られる、平安時代の武将・源義家(1039～1106)が、松の木の間で大鎧を着用して白馬に騎乗し、矢を払いながらひとり奮戦している様子を描いた作品。作者の鈴木雲渓(1867～1945)は、紀伊藩士・鈴木為三郎の長男であり、紀伊藩士で画人の筑紫翠雲(1837〜1905)に師事し、歴史風俗画を得意とした。落款は、「明治癸卯春日、錦泉源尚俊」(款記)、「木尚俊印」(白文方印)、「守真」(朱文方印)である。雲渓の子孫の家に伝来した作品。 |
