| Remarks | 熊野権現の起源を摩訶陀国(インド)からの飛来神とする説話を絵巻化した資料で、｢熊野の本地｣｢ごすいでん縁起｣などとも呼ばれる。こうした絵巻は多く存するが、本資料は役行者の前世である万行法印が登場する点が特徴であり、ほかには断簡2種が知られるにすぎない特異な伝本である。奥書にみえる姉崎治右衛門家昌は、寛永期にそれぞれ別系統の2種の｢熊野の本地｣にも関わっていることから、熊野信仰の唱道を行なう様々な集団からの依頼を取りまとめて、絵師に発注するような存在であったことが想定される。 |
