| Remarks | 「熊野曼茶羅」は、時代の下降に応じて形式も変化し、室町時代になると、吉野･大峯から熊野の山々、那智の滝などの背景を全く省略して、主要な神仏だけで構成されるようになる。本図はその典型で、十二所権現のほかは、満山護法と切目･滝尻･近露の各金剛童子と燈籠を描くにすぎない。 |
